The holidays begin!

It feels so great to know that this next week is free for us! I woke up this morning at 6am together with Namejs with the energy that is not normally there on a regular workday. He and I took our medicine together, and just chatted and snuggled for a bit, and then started moving. We decided the best thing to do would be to get the sauna going while I made pancakes. It was so warm this morning that I walked across the cement to the sauna without shoes or a robe, and felt kind of warm. Later on in the day it turned out to be 28 degrees celsius!

Didzis joined us for the eating and the sauna, and the boys had the luxury of a bath using one of the Latvian bathballs we brought back. After showering and changing I had the luxury of reading the English news and the Latvian news while the boys happily played outside moving the outside furniture to make forts in several places. Later, we packed and I went to get snacks for our trip tomorrow. We ate dinner with friends and finalized the last packing.

Tomorrow we leave for Samarkand where we will stay the night, and then travel by car to Shakrisabz. There we will spend several days, visit the desert a few mosques, a few antique markets and manage to hike in the mountains too. We are traveling together with another family and we are all looking forward to the experience. The boys are especially excited to finally see something of Uzbekistan besides Tashkent. It will be our first time outside of the city... Strange how that happens.

We will be back on Friday, and hopefully I will have pictures up by then. Hold your thumbs that we will all remain well during the trip!
