Going home for the summer

Tomorrow at 3:30 in the morning the boys and I fly out to Riga. We are packed, and will soon take a nap. It has been a hellishly hot day today - 38C, 102F. We wanted to go swimming, but the thought of being in the heat was even too much. It feels like the air is burning. It seems somehow hotter than I remember Australia being on those hottest of days.

Ahat said that they are predicting that in June, due to a 40 year cycle, that there is a predicition that there will be one day with 60C. I am not sure what to think about that. Sometimes things get confused in the translation, other times it is a misconception on his part.

We will at least be in the cool Latvia and return to the end of summer here with a only a few weeks of the remaining unbearable heat. Of course it will remain relatively warm all the way up to the end of October. :-)

Right now we are killing time until it is time to leave for the airport. The boys will take a nap, maybe I will too. Then it is off to Riga. See some of you there!
