Penguin Island

Today we spent a beautiful day at Penguin Island.  We went to see the penguins that nest on the island.  Although we didn't really see many in the wild, as they were all hiding out in their nesting areas moulting, we did see several in the visitors center that live there more permanently due to having been injured or born there while their parents were there.  The penguins in the enclosure are not suited to be returned to the sea as they just don't know what to do even with live fish.  But they gave us a sense of the beauty of these Little Penguins, and how they live, swim, and feed.   The rest of the island was also beautiful, with a variety of birds within the sanctuary.  We really enjoyed the day, the nature, and the beauty of the Australian sea and wildlife.
