Perth Zoo

The day after my Uncle's party we went to the Perth Zoo.  We were told that it was more like a nature reserve than a zoo.  In some ways this was true, in others not.  It is better than most zoos, but it was still restrictive for animals such as birds and reptiles, and the larger African animals.  There were still cages that I struggle with in zoos.  I realized that my dislike of zoos stems from my first visits to this zoo.  The improvements now are many, and it was a much better experience for us all. 

Didzis' favorite animal was the Red Panda, and Namejs' the otters.  We were really hoping to see a wombat and a platypus.  The wombats were hiding out and the zoo had no platypus!
