Buying a car

I'm thinking about buying a car. Today I sat down and did all of the budgeting, and it actually seems possible with the increase in our housing allowance that was decided upon this week.

Now the search begins: my landlord will look for me, one of the assistants at school will look for me.

What would be better? A Lada? A Niva? A Volga?
