Ziemas svētki/Christmas
This Christmas has been really enjoyable. I think it is the first Christmas in memory that there were no arguments or stress associated with the season. I have enjoyed spending a lot of quality time with my sister and her family. We have had fun together and the kids have had an absolute blast spending time with their cousins.
Christmas Eve was spent preparing a feast as usual. This time I made a goose, and Aina made salmon. We were downstairs at Aina's in-laws for the meal, and gift opening. Here is a picture of the kids there. All of the cousins had just recited their poems, opened all the gifts,and were asked to pose for the compulsory picture.
Later, we went upstairs and opened the rest of the presents. Here are pictures of our Christmas tree and the kids with their favorite presents. Didzis loved his new hat, the DVD's and books I had bought, and Namejs' favorite present was the spider from Santa Claus.
Here is another great picture of all four of them a few days earlier after bowling. Ice cream seemed like just the right treat!
It is great to watch the four of them together...cousins who are also best friends.
